Memorial Day Camp out 2014

Want to know what's cool about this family campout?

-It happens every year on the same weekend

-It has been located at the same place for 20 years

-It mostly includes my dad's side of the family although we welcome friends and other family members especially if they bring food : ) although we always seem to have an abundance of food

-It has been going on for MANY years, my parents have attended together for 40 years and this year was my 27th consecutive year attending

-It is a great test for anyone marrying into the family

-We have camped in freezing weather, snow, extreme wind, constant rain, and sunshine

-We have a special testimony meeting on Sunday and this year a Bishop came from Salmon so a new grandchild could receive his name and blessing

-We visit my Grandpa Walt's grave (my mom's dad) every year - it is only a few miles from our camping spot

-We play lots of games and eat lots of good food

-We get to see family members we don't see on a regular basis

-We have a talent show!

and we spend lots of time talking and reconnecting with family

This year we had beautiful weather! It was the first time in years I actually wore shorts. 

The kids spent lots of time picking flowers, going on 4-wheeler rides, playing in the dirt, and sitting by the fire.

One of the trickiest parts this year was getting Zoey and Weston to go to sleep at a decent hour.

 Weston's cousin had this super cool boat to play in and Weston thought it was awesome! We may have to look into buying one..

It was another wonderful and eventful year. We are already making plans for next year!
